Background
Roman had already lived a violent life before entering the military. By twenty-four, he had been shot once and had wrecked motorcycles or cars multiple times. He says he had previously been a lieutenant in a gang before attempting to “go straight” by joining the Marine Corps. After three years in infantry, including deployments in the Middle East, he describes struggling physically because of his preexisting injuries and age. After using cocaine to “keep up” and testing positive multiple times, he received an other-than-honorable discharge as a disabled veteran.

Physical Description
Black hair, dark good looks, and extensive tattoos. Resembles Nic—not literally, but has the same dark, heavily tattooed, troubled-man-who-doesn't-want-to-talk-about-it quality. Roman generally wears long sleeves beneath his prison uniform and keeps most of his tattoos covered as they show gang affiliation.
